Upfront let me say that since February, SightSpeed has been a client of my agency, Comunicano, so I'm biased. But given the comments by my brother bloggers to date about how they enjoy and concur that SightSpeed is the brand to beat in personal video communications, I'm not feeling like I'm drinking the Kool-Aid.
This morning I awoke and found that PCMagazine, one of the whistle stop media tour locations we put SightSpeed CEO Peter Csathy on last month, saw fit to give the new SightSpeed a 4/5 rating and awarded it an Editor's Choice.
What is so rewarding is Reviews Editor Davis Janowski used words like "brilliantly clear" and makes an outright declaration calling SightSpeed 5.0 “the best free video calling service, based on its unrivaled ability to produce real-time, fully synchronized calls,” so it is obvious that SightSpeed set the bar to a new level for all others to follow.
But here is what I think is the money shot is in the full length review:
“I continue to believe that Skype is the most well-rounded overall communications client, but its video quality is still considerably behind that of SightSpeed. That goes for the other free messaging communications client services from the big guys (AOL, Microsoft, Skype, and Yahoo!, among others) as well. Of course, your friends are more likely to be on the much better-known Skype already, but I think it's worth the effort to talk them into at least trying SightSpeed. If they're interested in video, I think one demonstration might be enough to seal the deal.”
Go read Davis’ review, without hesitation and then try SightSpeed and see what the blogs have been saying for yourself.
