VoIPWatch's first ever telecom poll has concluded. For those attending IT Expo this week in Fort Lauderdale, FL the results were revealed at the IDEA Showcase yesterday
CPaaS led the voting with over 30% of the votes cast. This was followed by WebRTC and then Call/Contact Center technology. UCaaS came in fourth, evidence that the service category has reached maturity. Intentionally left out of the poll was AI based services as some level of AI will find its way into telecom.
The outcome bodes well for companies in the CPaaS and WebRTC sectors. For those who have a mastery of both, this will lead to increased attention from developers and app producers who need to have reliable, scalable and stable communications in-app vs. OTT or as Dean Bubley says "under the floor." With CPaaS and WebRTC app developer can now go "through the middle" to make communications easier and more feature rich.
