Just as the iPhone has fueled what will eventually be more than a $7 million dollar coat of paint that will likely hit 11 billion for AT&T, the leak to BoyGeniusReport about Verizon putting a $99.00 price cap is all about the future, not the present.
Let's face it. Smartphones are for the data crowd not those that only use a phone to talk. What we're seeing the the rise of the 2.0 Wireless company and yes, the iPhone fueled it, but many forget there were smartphones before Apple emerged on the scene. In my view this could be a big lift for Nokia and their CDMA division which has been making some phones for CDMA carriers Verizon and Sprint, but due to the limitations of features, they were simply phones. Now Nokia can leverage their smartphone knowledge and make some killer devices for the CDMA and LTE to Be crowd.
When (and if that happens) its not a two horse race between Windows Mobile and Blackberry. Nokia will come to play too.
