I love how she slams Vonage in her closing remarks. Total slap in their face coming and going.
Voice over IP has gotten a bad rap from some because there are a number of over-the-top (OTT) players that have confused the market. Customers have connotations of security and emergency services that have been influenced by these OTT players. Comcast offers a reliable home phone service that delivers all of the functions of traditional phone service, but includes better features that are integrated with our other Comcast services, and for a better price.
What also comes through is the approach of "offer it right to everyone, one platform." Last but not least my takeaway is that where there's Comcast, there will be a business VoIP play.
There's a lot of "tells" in the story once you get beyond the profile angle. Verizon and AT&T execs who sell in markets against Comcast should read it closely.
