I got my Novatel Wireless MC950D Wireless GSM/3G modem...it rocks.
I've been playing more and more with the NO IT GUY REQUIRED Jazinga box, a combined router, WiFi access point and VoIP service box for the SOHO and SMB market. It really rocks. Alec Saunders and I had a call this morning..from my hotel room on WiFi using only my CounterPath Eyebeam client. The SIP to PSTN service worked flawlessly.
I've also been using the services of PhoneFusion. Think of GrandCentral meets PhoneGnome (which is launching PhoneGnome for Business this weekend) meets your big time office PBX without any box.
Along with Junction Networks' ONSIP hosted PBX offer, these services all are really game changers in what I call the legacy carrier challenging telephone service providers. Each is very different.
But I'm saving the best for last...I was BLOWN AWAY....and if I was wearing socks, they would have been blown off thanks to the new SightSpeed for Business 9 Way video and the overall video quality was outrageous. SightSpeed VP Eric Quanstrom and I got into the advanced settings, ratcheting up the throughput speeds on the client to 1500 up and down and oh, my, GOSH...Talk about a picture being worth a thousand word. Ok. So their my agency's client as are many in this post, but even putting that aside, the bar has been significantly raised. Using the Logitech 9000 Pro Webcam which is what Skype needs for High Definition Video the native SightSpeed was equal to and better on my Windows Media Center 2.4 Gateway Dual Core 2 Vista box and a Dell monitor. Even EQ was bowled over, as the testing done before yesterday was largely "lab" conditions. This time I was on my cable modem pushing up to 1800 kbps and a rock steady 30 frames per second with latency under a highly desirable .052 percent.
I had a similar experience on my Mac with SightSpeed COO Scott Lomond and even found time to pal around with a few others. As I said to CEO Peter Csathy.. "This ROCKS the house...."
