This story brings back memories for me. When I was cutting my teeth in the PR game in the 70's when I worked for the Philadelphia Flyers Hockey Central organization one of the papers I used to phone scores into and which had reporters I tried to entice to cover high school hockey was the Doylestown Daily Intelligencer. Many a night I spoke with then sports reporter Mike Gibson with the scores from two high school hockey leagues that his paper covered.
Now fast forward over 30 years and we're still calling to get coverage, but the difference is we're doing it for a VoIP company called Junction Networks which has a kick but product called OnSip that I use on the road and love. In today's paper the company was featured along with their CEO Mike Oeth who has told the story so well, along with one of the company's customer.
A lot of times the stories we see on VoIP are really announcements. This is a real story in a local paper, in a community where Comcast is king...but where businesses need more than Voice 1.5. Junction Networks delivers a 2.0 experience with SIP...
In a word--positioning.
