Skype is announcing a new retail distribution channel partnership with Wal-Mart, in which a number of Skype Certified devices (webcams, handsets and headsets) and the first pre-paid cards for Skype ($20 Skype Credit and a three-month subscription to the Unlimited Calling plan for $8.85) will be sold in more than 1,800 stores in the U.S.
As I've previously posted, in order for Skype to make their numbers they have to focus on the mainstream. This is one more indication of that.
