In some sectors of life Vanilla is about being plain, ordinary and well, boring. Early adopters are usually anything but that, as we take the risks to try new things out and find out how frustrating that newness can be, while at the same time paving the way for others who will, as a result of our trailblazing efforts, have it easier.
That's why I love the juxtaposition of the word "vanilla" by mobile analyst Dean Bubley yesterday in his post on Vanilla phones.
In this case, vanilla actually means the opposite, and as a foodie, in my view the full featured phones, that have everything in them, really are the "spicy" ones as they are sure t0 be causing the mobile operators all kinds of indigestion.
Read Dean's post and see how good it tastes to the likes of folks at Skype, SipPhone, Truphone and just about anyone making the future more palatable in the way of price of calling.
