So what is broadband?
It seems the FCC is asking itself that very question. This post on GigaOm and the hat tipped eWeek story is all about that.
Basically what most people have at home, 256k up and somewhere between 1 meg and 3 megs down pales in comparison to what is being built out in other parts of the world.
In Paris, Free.tv and others offer 28 megs down, 6 megs up, calling to dozens of countries, 100+ TV channels and more for slightly under 30 Euros. Other parts of the world are seeing similar buildouts and even more enhanced speeds. That means the technology exists.
It is now time for the technology to be deployed.
