Clarity Communications is a company that my team and I are having a lot of fun working with. Their new technology platform offering hosted push to talk is giving tier two and tier three carriers a way to offer their customers an alternative to leaving for Nextel as was noted in the Chicago Sun-Times last Friday.
What's more since the Clarity solution is SIP based that means a software based client on the PC can also talk to those mobile the field and vice versa. For municipal workers, law enforcement and even field forces for contractors, this is an ideal example of VoIP and Mobile working together in a command and control scenario.
There's a lot more coming from Clarity, the eight year young restart that has been reenergized with the addition of two BridgePort Network alums including BPN's founder Tom (the Closer) Carter and sales hawk Jack Magnusen who have been ripping up North America ringing up sales for this, and with CTIA only a few weeks away, look for more from this formerly unheard of company that is now squarely on the radar of mobile operators and their competitors in the PTT (push to talk space).
You can hear more about Clarity from Ken Camp and read more about them from former MobileCruncher, Oliver Starr, whose analysis just about nailed the story first.
