My friend and neighbor Lee Gopadze is VP, Wireless at Covad. Lee has been a leader in wireless for years and I clearly get the vision of what Covad is up to with wireless.
And, Gracie, it's not mobile.
Covad is looking at how it can deliver broadband without the wire using WiMax and more. They've also spent a ton of money on improving their GoBeam product to where they can provide a very robust hosted VoIP solution.
When combined, these two efforts are a threat to the telcos business market and puts Covad in the middle, not on the edge of the game fairly soon.
