While Brad Garlinghouse and Jeff Bonforte are both people I consider pals in the VoIP space, it seems Yahoo just can't get their act together with a Mac client. And it's not me whose barking this time, but someone who they really need to listen to. Ted Wallingford. Ted is more than just a VoIP addict. He also is the MacWorld go to guy on issues like this, so when he speak, the Mac faithful follow.
What's disheartening is that I've used the new Yahoo Messenger on the PC and I really like it. But looking at it from a birds eye view, it appears it was more of adding in the DialPad technology on the back end, souping up the interface to add the Dialpad dialer and then having a Gizmo like clone, minus the Mac side of the family to have a weapon to go against Skype.
By the way. Mr. Wallingford points to a witty post from Russell Shaw about the Skype WiFi phone from NetGear which I've never been too hot on...I still don't have one to try, and since it won't work at Boingo or T-Mobile locations, how much does it really offer?
