With all the hype and hoopla last week at VON about Video, Microsoft chose to sit back (some would say pull out) of the noise that got made in Boston and instead came out this week to stand on their own SoapBox.
With SoapBox Microsoft is going after the same space as YouTube and Time Warner's Veoh, which makes me wonder if companies like blip.tv will end up being nothing more than that on the radar of dot.com life when you see how much muscle the big boys can bring to bare on the market. What I think we're seeing with user generated video sites is the start of Web cable content distribution, which over time will meld into a more cable tv like network and MSO model.
