Garrett (The Blog Ranker) Smith has an interesting post on Alarm.com and SunRocket.
What's interesting is he also mentions a company I'm quite fond of, NextAlarm. In the sake of transparency, NextAlarm has been talking to me about becoming an agency client, so it's always rewarding to know going in that others I respect recognize their status in the VoIP world.
The MSO's are a likely target to offer home alarm monitoring, as are the DSL providers. It's all a matter of who is more partner friendly, versus just wanting to partner, that will make things matter in my book. By solving the VoIP issue to supply monitoring data to the monitoring stations NextAlarm has that piece of the puzzle solved, while Alarm.com is still, as Mr. Smith points out, playing with GSM, not VoIP for now to send data to those that need to know.
