I found Richard's write up interesting. The "forwarding" or dual number solution to make fixed mobile convergence work in Germany is in my mind a short term way to exploit the idea of FMC. Seamless handover, with one number, and where the IP-WLAN connection appearing as a roaming network to the HLR is the really only right way to go.
This current "When Harry Met Sally" fake scene like approach is a stop gap measure at best for T-Com which needed a VoIP play to stop losing customers.
