Last Tuesday at the VoIP Developer's Conference KTVU's Pam Cook was on the scene looking into the story of Mobile VoIP. I ended up being one of the people interviewed and got to show off a series of phone's and talk with Pam about the devices and the barriers to Mobile VoIP.
Note: Except for Pam's ancient phone, all the phones and the baby Vaio shown in the segment are mine.
We did attempt to try the Nokia E61 which works fine in my house to make VoIP calls, but the lack of NAT Travesal made it impossible at the T-Mobile Hotspot. I did though make a call to Pam using SightSpeed's PSTN Out Feature that worked from my Mac, proving that calls can be made and soon will be made on dual mode phones that can deliver seamless handover.
