IMS is what underlies Fixed Mobile Convergence, otherwise known as where Mobile Meets VoIP.
Ken Camp is digging into the subject and his summary is a good primary, with some kudos to pal Martin Geddes.
This ties in nicely as I'm moderating the "VoIP In a Wireless World" panel at MuniWireless.org's June conference in Santa Clara. With Dual Mode, WiFi enabled handsets coming on stream very quickly, and mobile operators looking at how to get into the home more and more, this panel discussion will be a lively and informative look into that world, and IMS holds many of the keys.
