Om speculates that Yahoo won't get into the WiFi business with Boingo.
The reason it could happen is that Yahoo is all about having access partners, and Boingo would be one of those as Yahoo loves what I call on ramp partners. WiFi is another way to access Yahoo. While he points out that Yahoo already has relationships with the Baby Bells (he left out BT in the UK which also has WiFi locations) the one thing he misses is the International aspects of Boingo's roaming relationships, which makes them, along with T-Mobile, one of the largest access provider in the world of WiFi..
What also is missing is in his analysis is the relationship via Sky Dayton between Helio, Boingo and Earthlink. All that makes one have to wonder why Boingo would work with Yahoo, when Earthlink is working with Google. But Boingo, as Om points out, does have roaming with Freedom Link, the AT&T/SBC WiFi program.
Bottom line is that this rumor is better for Boingo than Yahoo.
