i2Telecom, the people behind VoiceStick have announced that they are now 911 and E911 ready as they have worked with Intrado to provide VoIP functionality through over the 1700 Public Service Access Points. They claim they will also add another 1000 in the next four months.
I see this somewhat as a breakthrough and wonder how other "soft" client VoIP providers will respond, including Vonage, SipPhone, Yahoo and most of all Skype. In my mind this could trigger the FCC into saying, if one can do it, all must do it, while I don't agree that is the right approach, who says the FCC always does what's right.
