Congrats to Alec Saunders for causing a stir about the lack of airport power in the USA.
I had the exact opposite experience so far here in Europe. Now I wish I had snapped a photo of the WiFi station at Orly in Terminal D. Not only do the have power for 220/240 v, they even had two 110 outlets at this wonderfully constructed desk that held up to five people.
I haven't seen a power issue at hotels. In the lobby of the Sofitel Bercy there are multiple outlets below each cocktail table, awesome Orange supplied WiFi. Here in Madrid at lunch today when I showed up with my laptop the Maitre'd unplugged something next to my table and chose to seat me near the outlet.
Summary..it must be a USA thing for the Europeans are really getting it.
