SunRocket has announced a very low price to gain customers. Less than $10.00 a month.
But you get what you pay for. In the past Sun Rocket has had network capacity and infrastructure issues. In fairness to the marketing driven company, those issues were caused more by the lack of capacity on the network side and from a session border controller that just maxed out. But Om found the room to post about their issues also, meaning I'm not alone in feeling a tad concerned.
While that may be a good problem to have while growing, phone service is not something that consumers want that is unreliable. My fear with this promotion is those outages come back to haunt their customers who signed up for the unlimited yearly plan, have been with them for a while, and run into trouble making or receiving call.
Low price is good. Consistent connectivity is better. Here's to hoping these folks have solved the technical issues so their "bright" idea for customer growth happens properly.
