In the last 48 hours I've had two execs who I respect in different sectors at totally different meetings tell me that CallWave is up for sale. The Santa Barbara, CA based company is in the unified messaging space. They have customers.
I've never been a fan of the company preferring Webley Systems over them.
Update--A few hours after this post a Hat Trick club member messaged me to say not only is it true but that an investment banker is involved and the shopping of CallWave has been going on for months. The source also shared that reportedly there were 800,000 users but most of it was really for find me/follow me and voice mail.
Note to interested buyers: No one is sure those customers will stick around and churn in that sector needs to be looked at.
