I don't expect this to be the last company, but they may be the first of the superheated VoIP market companies to pull the pin and say, BK.
I've been very concerned from the start of this column back in the fall of 2003 about companies with no staying power. In interviews with the mainstream media and on the daily "World Technology Roundup" on KenRadio.com I've cautioned about signing up with unknown players who may not make the cut.
My big concern is what happens with the "ownership" of the phone number, as the way I've always seen it, is your number is an asset and letting people know you've changed your phone number, plus printing new collateral like letterhead and business cards can cost you more than you save.
