Om Malik on Broadband: AOL/Time Warner buys into VoIP, Net2Phone.
Both deals signal me that the big boys are about to get very serious when it comes to VoIP. The money will be in the infrastructure for the next few years, and that means Sonus, Lucent, Alcatel and Nortel, the favored sons of the big technology, plus IBM will get fat on the new and old players.
While some upstart will make noise and money, this is a time to take the money when it's offered, not wait around for a bigger payday that may never arrive.
Update-Om actually corrected his post, as AOL reduced their stake.
