If it isn't obvious by now, the line of Linksys VoIP products are popping up everywhere from three main carriers, AT&T's CallVantage, Verizon VoiceWing and Vonage.
Here's a list, supplied by Linksys, of which products are available out of the box for the carriers.
Phone Adapter with 2 Phone Ports
PAP2 Vonage
PAP2-VN Verizon
Wired Router with 2 phone ports
RT31P2 Vonage
RT41P2A-AT AT&T
Wireless-G Router with 2 phone ports
WRT54GP2 Vonage
WRT54GP2A-AT AT&T
To date I have yet to see Linksys, or any of the manufacturers who sell to the big box stores and etailers, offer a naked version telephone adapter that enables a consumer to configure their own for use with any carrier. This leave
Sipura as the manufacturer of choice for those choosing services from
VoicePulse,
Broadvoice,
Net2Phone,
Broadvox or any of the other VoIP players in North America that let you bring your own access device.
VoicePulse's Open Access platform was one of the first to offer this option. Their sound quality is second to CallVantage in my opinion, making them a serious contender versus Vonage that somehow seems to be missed at times by the reviewers in major publications, though of late the new Linksys adapters from Vonage has narrowed that gap. But where VoicePulse excels is their wide range of features, and how easy they are to administer.
SIPPhone markets an ATA called "Call-in-one" and also two models from Grandstream. I presume that these can be used with the SPs that allow you bring your own device. I have no data on the performance of these devices.

Is that true that Net2Phone lets you bring your own now? I must have missed that on their website where they were encouraging you to buy the $99 Innomedia box.
