The story which appeared yesterday in the Washington Post is a very consumer, almost which companies are there, type of story.
Noticably missing is D.C area based Lingo, Packet 8 and VoicePulse all whom deserved to be mentioned in the same way as Vonage and AT&T CallVantage when describing home and SOHO telephone line replacement. All have more users than VoiceWing.
On the side of the so called "free" or "almost free" the story omits SipPhone which has actually been around longer than Skype and also iConnectHere. Both provide services that are SIP based and enable PSTN termination from calls originated on a PC.
