Well after some doing, I finally got the XyZEL Prestige 2000 WiFi SIP handset working. About the size of a candy bar style cell phone, I could not get it to work with either the Microsoft 802.11g or Netgear Travel router (bummer) as it could not pick up the DHCP, so I went out and invested in some Linksys 802.11g gateway and an access point. I replaced the Microsoft gear and voila, it worked, first time out.
Now, I'll tell you, this device has some issues it seems, with mixed 802.11b/g and even failed at a local It's A Grind Coffee shop that offeres free WiFi without any login.
But, the good news is I got it working and the sound is similar to that of a 2.4mhz cordless phone. I was able to get it running using my Vonage Softphone account and figure it has its uses. I only wish I could get it working with the Netgear travel router, as the size and weight of the two is less than the Linksys router.
