    Ted-On Grand Central

Ted Wallingford has roared back into the blogosphere with a very on the mark post about GrandCentral. I couldn't agree more.

In an era where hype is quickly generated via the blogs, analyst, media and even through well thought out participation at conferences, it seems many a marketer has forgotten that at times, "silence is golden."

The folks at GrandCentral have obviously taken that tact, and while they have been coming up with what will be GrandCentral 2.0 under the Google banner, they have been very quiet because the product does the talking for them:

Here's a few of things to consider:

    1. We don't hear complaints from people who use GC voiced that much.

    2. Nothing has come along that has people saying "well, I can now stop using my GrandCentral account because blah blah blah is better.."

    3. When something does go wrong with it, Craig and Vincent fix it in minutes not days

    4. When GrandCentral makes behind the scenes changes, like routes, suppliers or hosting providers, they don't tell the world. They just do it. Users don't know about the changes because as long as it keeps working, why would they care.

    5. It works as advertised.

    6. GrandCentral remains FREE. When's the last time something as valuable to so many people stayed that way, without an ad model.

As a daily user of GrandCentral, I'm very happy with what they have. It saves me money, makes my life easier and works as promised. That's a far cry different than many things we pay for.
