Mobile operator 3 has rolled out VoIP calling in Indonesia.
This is a forward moving step and clearly shows that mobile operators are ideally poised to be in the VoIP business. We've seen this via Orange in France with UNYK and from T-Mobile with T-Mobile @ HOME here in the USA.
In this case 3 is once again showing why they see the future and are prepared to break ranks from the traditional mobile operator model.

What exactly does this mean? Is 3 going to be simply offering VoIP accounts to Indonesians, or terminating calls from Indonesian mobile phone users via VoIP? Either way, sounds like a good thing for the exorbitant rates for phone calls out of Indonesia!
