AudioCodes Moves Into The Converged Gateway Space

Pal Alan Weinkrantz let me in on some news about AudioCodes. They provide VOIP networking equipment and have been around longer than most companies in the game.

It looks like they are moving into the converged data market with the introduction of a Multi Service Business Gateway.

With the product's introduction AudioCodes seems to be focusing now on securing and mediating VoIP services. It also means they are finally leveraging their investment in the 2006 acquisition of Texas based, Netrake, a Session Border Controller (SBC) company. AudioCodes is actually adding these capabilities to the already available Mediant 1000, and sets roadmap for implementing additional data capabilities including router, firewall and access.

Acme Packet you better not look back to see whose gaining on you.
