Verizon Makes You Think It's 1984

I just read the latest post from Judi Sohn, who in another daypart is one of the folks at GigaOm's Web Worker Daily as editor.

This post about Verizon DSL reminded me of a conversation I had with PhoneFusion's co-founder Jonathan Hollander the other day about how he gets redirected to the Verizon FIOS search engine when he tries to go to a web site that's not in the Verizon DNS cache.

It also reminded me of 1984 and Brave New World...I guess to Verizon their idea of where you can surf to is getting to be more "walled garden" than OPEN. To prove Judi, Jonathan and me wrong all they need to do is open things up.
