Seeking Nirvana in VoIP--It's not ooma

Sun Rocket-First Person Account

An IDG News Service reporter shares his first person account about his overall experience with SunRocket.

It isn't pretty.

But there is an old adage that you get what you pay for.

Originally I was a Vonage customer for VoIP. As soon as CallVantage came online from AT&T I jumped on it and have been a happy camper ever since, with Earthlink TrueVoice as the second service in the home office for lines three and four.

Recently my two-line Linksys ATA that powers CallVantage went on the blink. It seems at age two or so this happens for some reason. All it took was two chats with Customer Service Thursday night and Friday morning and a replacement ATA is on its way.

In the cases of CallVantage and Earthlink I'm getting what I pay for. Reliable service. Professional support and real help when I need it (which until the Linksys fried, I didn't.)
