    Who Needs Free?

I have never been a fan of "free" as a long term business model. While the idea of no cost to talk via Skype and GizmoProject has helped bring cost of talking minutes to zero, and services like SightSpeed allow FREE video calling on a one on one basis, the real benefit to people comes from the services that have models that feature a pay component. All of the services mentioned above do, and so do the services outlined in this spot on the money post by pal Luca that was a guest feature on SkypeJournal.

Highlighting two agency clients, iotum and GrandCentral, and pointing out the dream pairing that I had a hand in shaping, GrandCentral and GizmoProject.

Luca's point that we don't need more free, ties directly into why services which know they will eventually be billing customers but use the beta period to validate the user experience and sure fire bets for the future.
