T-Mobile Cancels UMA Play In Germany

Last month, the always tight-lipped folks at T-Mobile quietly shut down their T-One GSM/WiFi phone UMA trial service without even a whimper over in Germany.

This likely can't bode well for the folks in Seattle who were using much of the same UMA technology for the T-Mobile Home service trial, a service that despite its promise has almost zero marketing outside of the region. Calls and emails to T-Mobile's PR folks on the subject in the past have either gone unanswered or the responses were nothing more than rehashes of already published news stories.

Well, maybe this was why.
