8 x 8 Making Moves

I've always been watching 8 x 8 and starting to like the moves Bryan Martin and his team are making.

While not so apparent on the surface it looks like Packet8 is expanding more into the small business market by pretty much realizing that while they have a service that works for the consumer, going head to head against the incumbents and the cable MSO's may not be the wisest of choices.

In my mind Vonage once was thinking this too, but lost their way in the small business space around the time of the IPO. The Vonage SOHO effort that I recall hearing about over 14 months ago seems to have just died, leaving Linksys with a piece of hardware to take elsewhere.

This Fax play by 8x8 is not the first of it's type, but a nice play to make sure VoIP offices have a working fax option.
