    JaJah Hasn't Swayed Me Yet

JaJah is trying to change their image. Getting product reviews is one way to try to do just that.

Last week their marketing person sent me a new presentation deck trying to convince me they're not "minute stealers." I still say the "duck" argument applies to them that they are, even if their claim is they are adding to the number of minutes used. To me the "minute stealer" term still applies and I don't see that as a bad thing. Then again I also think the duck argument applies to Skype in that they are a phone company, and at some point will have to come to grips with E911 issues here in the USA, but that's after the FCC comes to better grips, not an incumbent led choke hold on VoIP that is currently there.

I also concocted another phrase, "the Robin Hoods" of telecom. They rob from the rich, i.e the incumbents retail side, and give to the poor, i.e. other carriers who wholesale minutes, in some cases, those that are the carrier's own wholesale division folks.

In the products world when you move consumption of inventory from one place to another that displaces the official product it's called diversion. It also takes money away from the authorized channel and in some cases violates parallel import laws, hence why it's also called "stealing."
