This is all getting quite interesting as yesterday Skype filed an ex-parte motion

with the FCC to be excluded from E-911 service. While I consider Skype an IM service that offers phone like features, I wonder if the masses who don't know the difference and expect E-911 services will appreciate the distinctions and differences.
