Om Malik on Broadband » Vonage is being blocked?

Om Malik on Broadband » Vonage is being blocked?

Om has a report that starts with Paul Kapustka from Advanced IPPipeline about some carriers reportedly blocking Vonage VoIP traffic. I've always been concerned about Port Blocking, and in the case of SIP traffic via CallVantage, that would be port 69, while other carriers use different ports. We know of past actions by bankrupt cable operator Adelphia which on some systems blocked CallVantage, but this is the first noise about Vonage.

Now we all know that some cable operators (i.e. COX) blocks port 25 and 135 making SMTP traffic a hassle (unless you use HotSpotVPN like I do that is) so the story is not without merit.
