I'm actually happy to see that the New York Times has reviewed both the Vonage and AT&T CallVantage Wireless Router/Telephone Adapters. I'm due to receive one next week from Linksys, who makes them for both VoIP providers.
I already have the Linksys PAP-2 for Vonage and feel it is a marked improvement over the original ATA-186 from Cisco which Vonage first debuted with. Even so, the PAP is still second in sound quality to the D-Link box from AT&T.
Once I get the wireless adapter I'll be able to see if it's the TA or the network that makes the difference. I'm betting that it's the network.
Do you suffer from the buzzing phone port of the PAP-2?

It's starting to come back up in areas now after 2 hours. It appears that the Locate Me feature was working, but anything that had to do with the ATA was not.
From what I can gather from the posts, it was down in NJ, NY, NE, CO, NC, MD, FL, PA, TX, WA, IL, NV, and TN.
During that time, calls to Tech Support would make you go through the IVR and then just hang up on you.
And an interesting tidbit from the Terms of Service:
You acknowledge and agree that the Services are provided “as is.” Credit allowances for interruption of AT&T CallVantage Service, including international calling services, will not be provided."
Anyway, you should call your PR contact there and get the story.

Well, perhaps it's a localized problem?
Is there any common thread? ISP? Geographic area?
I'm traveling so I don't have access to my ATA only the service by phone and that worked with locate me and voice mail.
Also, how about identifying yourself and not using an annonymous email address...that way I can correspond directly with you and get more facts.
I beleive you..I just want to know where the outages are to report accurately. Thanks.

The 30+ posts on DSLReports in less than 1 hour seem to say otherwise.

FYI, the oh-so-perfect CallVantage service is down! On Thanksgiving Eve no less!
EDITOR'S NOTE--I just called my CallVantage line and had no problems. The calls rang and the Locate Me feature worked.--Andy
