    Did San Jose Overspend on Cisco VoIP

    The axiom in corporate America is no one gets fired for buying Cisco. Time to add a "well almost" to that line. In San Jose, CA it's the kind of move that may not get the townsfolk to reelect you or in the case of being a city employee it may get you fired.

    In what is an eye opening indictment of how close technology and the rapidly growing San Jose government are intertwined the Mercurey News has a story critical of the relationship.

    While some may just wonder how expensive that Cisco phone system really was, this sheds light on how important Cisco's political and gevernmental efforts are (can you say TechNet) and shines the light on how heavily tech companies invest in building the relationships with government,.
